The old viewpoint on health in America has changed with the Trump administration. The new Secretary of the Health and Human Services is Robert F. Kennedy Jr. He's leading the charge to get rid of prior beliefs on saturated fats and meats in the old food pyramid model.

The New Pyramid
Sets the standards on protein, healthy fats, fruits, and veggies.
Focus on where you get your fats and carbs from.

The Old Pyramid
The base of diets should be carbs.
Limit your fat intake first and foremost.
Carbs are meant to be the base of your diet.
Many people are mixed about the changes to the health standard. Putting fat as a priority is a big one. The controversy with certain health officials is the fact that red meat is prioritized. Saturated fat, which is found in red meat and butter, is linked to heart disease. Although some people change their minds with different studies and have now found that saturated fat can be healthy. Another viewpoint on fat that has changed is with cheese. Cheese has loads of fat, but now it is part of a healthy diet, being linked to cardiovascular health.
Though most people don't focus on the guidelines the government sets for us to eat. But it is very influential for schools and people on military bases, so it is important that we realize what is put in place for us to eat as students.
