   In 2026, approximately over 64% of kids around the age of 13 have at least one type of social media account. There are many different opinions regarding kids using social media. One being that it's a bad thing for kids, because of all the uncertainty surrounding it. It's possible it could be dangerous since there is no guarantee that the person behind the account is safe, nor is it always the person they claim to be. There have also been many different types of scams where older people take advantage of kids on social media, either regarding money or something way worse.
While there are a lot of negatives with having social media, there are a lot of positives too. Like having the ability to keep up with people in your life that you may not be able to, such as family or friends who live across the world. It also allows us to meet new people who share the same interests or hobbies. In addition to that, there are all kinds of good educational stuff you can find out there. Further examples would be continuing your education or learning skills that could help you make money in the future. Now over 90% of businesses use social media, which aids kids develop skills that they could use in their future.Â
