Christmas music is one of the most effective ways to get in the Christmas spirit. It goes back to 4th century Rome in Latin-language hymns. In the 16th century, songs that are still sung today "The 12 Days of Christmas", "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen", and "O Christmas Tree" were created. The first Christmas songs associated with Santa were created during the 19th century, "Up on the Housetop" and "Jolly Old St. Nicholas" are just two of the most popular traditional songs. In 1942, Bing Crosby wrote, “White Christmas” which is one of the most well-known Christmas songs to this day. In 2020, the most-streamed Christmas song was “All I want for Christmas is You” by Mariah Carey. Some other very popular songs are “Last Christmas”, “Santa Tell Me”, “It's Beginning to Look a Lot like Christmas”, “Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree”, “Jingle Bell Rock”, and “It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”. All of these songs still come back around every year to bring back our holiday spirit.
