Snowstorms can be very dangerous and unpredictable. That’s why it’s always a good idea to be prepared for one just in case. How will you know if you are having a snowstorm? If you see or hear: Blizzard WARNING, Winter Storm WARNING, WIND CHILL Temperature, Winter Storm OUTLOOK, Winter Storm Watch, and Winter Weather ADVISORY. You should get the things you will need. The emergency supplies you should get are: Food, Medicine, a to-go kit, a home kit, phones, batteries, chargers, and really good clothing. Stay inside most of the time. If you do go outside, make sure you cover yourself really well. Cover your nose, ears, cheeks, chin, and fingers. Also, make sure you are wearing dry clothing. In your home, check doors and windows to make sure they are closed, and if they have cracks or spaces, use tape and clothing to fix that problem. You can learn skills that are important, such as first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Learn how to treat frostbite and hypothermia. You should plan to stay connected with what is happening around you by watching the weather, and you can also have a battery-powered radio. It is important that you stay inside your home at all times, but if you need to drive to get somewhere, make sure you have people coming with you, extra clothing, your phone, food, and water. If you are stranded in your car, just stay in your car to stay warm and wait for help. Turn your engine on for 10 minutes for each hour and try to use your car's heater. Display trouble signs. You can use brightly colored clothing to hang up. Stay in your car unless you see help within 100 yards (91 meters). Please stay safe and make sure that you guys stay warm.
