Mr. Davis served in the U.S. Navy. Davis would like to honor and remember the many who have served in his family. His father and uncle served in the Navy, and both grandfathers served in the Army. His cousin served in the Special Forces and was shot in Haiti. When I asked Mr. Davis who he would like to remember and honor he said, “ It’s hard to choose one. Not only do I want to honor my family, but all the men and women who had the calling to defend freedom.”

Virgil McKee

This is in Coach Smith’s classroom, located in the library. Pictures and memorabilia adorn his wall and are dedicated to the men who served in Coach Smith’s family.
Thank you to all veterans for your bravery, sacrifice, and service to our country. Especially our Powell Veterans! Your dedication and courage inspire us all. We are forever grateful for your commitment to protecting our freedom. Happy Veterans Day!
