The Panthers Cage The Smokey Bears 31-7

Game Summary:

The Panthers took down Sevier County on Friday, dominating the Smokey Bears 31-7. The Panthers faced a tough road test in the second round and showed they have the potential to win state. A dominant performance from Junior WR Dylan Stooksbury saw him haul in two receiving touchdowns in the win. Powell never trailed one time throughout the game and went into the half leading 21-7. Powell never let off the gas and pitched a second half shut out beating the Smokey Bears 31-7. 

Biggest Storylines:

Panthers QB Duece Rodgers left the game in the second quarter with a head injury. Rodgers was being evaluated for a concussion and it is unknown whether he’ll be ready to go for Friday. Deuce was peaking at the time of his injury throwing for a touchdown and rushing for another in the first quarter.

Next Game:

The Powell Panthers will travel back to Rebel Stadium to take on West coming off a 30-0 win over Morristown-West. This will be the second meeting in four weeks between the two after the Panthers lost 24-23 in overtime on October 26th. The difference is there's more at stake this time with the winner of this one moving on to the TSSAA 5A Semi-finals.
