COVID Making A Comeback

    COVID has supposedly been making a comeback this year. There are reported new cases and schools have been warned. There have been 152,508,460 vaccinations distributed through August for the new uprise of the coronavirus. The original COVID variant is no longer a thing, except for rare cases. A new variant is here and the virus levels in wastewater are rising in populated areas. The new BA.2.86 Pirola is “a newly designated, highly mutating variant of Omicron which triggered the surge in cases.” according to an Aljazeera article about the recent variant. The CDC is working to understand its impact on health and if it will be just as bad as the old virus.
