Powell (5-0) Takes On The Clinton Dragons (1-4)

Aiden Gallagher

Finishing up week two of their season, the Panthers will be staying home this week to take on the Clinton Dragons. The two teams met in the second game of the year when the Panthers took down the Dragons 58-45. The Dragons have failed to break 50 yet this season, and to beat the Panthers they will need to score more than that to walk away with a win. Averaging nearly 11 steals a game, the Panther's defense has been aggressive and tenacious thus far this season.. Needless to say, the Panthers are going to give the Dragons problems if they dont take care of the ball. The Dragon's defense has shown the opposite, as they have given up 208 points in three games, while only putting up 188. Overall, the Panthers have a stronger and more experienced roster than the Dragons. The Panthers bring 6 seniors to the game while the Dragons only bring 4.

Impact Players:

Powell

Senior SG Kaleb Walker is clearly the leader of this team. He has shown his ability to space the floor, drive to the basket, and strip the ball on defense. He is undoubtedly the biggest weapon for the Panthers on both sides of the floor.

Clinton

The Dragons are going to need another big game from Carter Nelson. In their last meeting with Powell, the 5’10 Senior Guard had a 17 point game, hitting 4 shots from deep in the loss. He has the ability to space the floor and beat the Powell guards off the dribble, however he will need to take care of the ball better to really be effective.
