I personally love Christmas. The movies, the music, the decorations, the attire.. all of it. I also still believe in Santa. However, this year, something has caused me to lose a portion of my Christmas spirit. If you didn’t know (which you probably don’t) I work at Steak N’ Shake. This past Friday, I was sitting in the back doing side-work while singing Christmas music. More specifically, it was the song “When Christmas Comes to Town” from The Polar Express. As soon as I got to the part, “I guess that Santa’s busy ‘cause he never comes to town. I think of him when Christmas comes to town,” I turned and guess what? SANTA WAS IN TOWN! SANTA WAS IN STEAK N’ SHAKE!! And after further investigation, I realized SANTA WAS AT ONE OF MY TABLES!!! I was able to serve him. The man, the myth, the legend, Jolly Old Saint Nicholas.
After taking his order, I went back to get a couple pics with him. He was super sweet….other than the fact that he stiffed me. Yep, Santa didn’t tip his waitress. It honestly made me really sad. I understand that he’s a busy man and has places to be, but REALLY SANTA! LIKE I HAVE BILLS TO PAY AND PRESENTS TO BUY. Nonetheless, I still love Christmas. But Santa, if you’re reading this, DON’T expect me to leave you milk and cookies.
