On Oct 16th, 2019, students and staff at La Habra High School in Orange County, California were placed in a lock-down due to a student flashing a .22 caliber handgun. Police say they aren't sure if the student was showing it off or trying to sell it. Two freshman students saw it and tackled him and wrestled the gun out of his hands. Later, the school lifted the lock-down once all students and faculty were safe. Police said a student was detained and a weapon was recovered at the scene. The same student is being held in a juvenile detention center.
