The Powell Panthers football squad scored 34 points and held the visiting Rhea County Golden Eagles to 16 in the Panthers non-league victory on Friday. After one quarter the Panthers put 6 up against the Golden Eagles leaving them trailing 6-0. At the half the Panthers put 14 more on the board with Rhea County only putting 3 in the lights leaving the score 20-3. In the third quarter both teams threw 7 on the board ending the third 27-10. Finishing out the game the Panthers dominated over the Golden Eagles 34-16. The Panthers are now owners of a 12-0 record. They put it on the line with West for a non-league battle on Friday, November 22 at 7pm. Powell will play a Rebels who are coming off a 34-14 non-league win over Oak Ridge. The Rebels record now stands at 11-1.
