Homecoming Week

By Gladis Rodriguez:

Homecoming week has arrived at Powell High School, and so have the many exciting activities that come along with it. The Homecoming game is against Karns this Friday and kickoff is at 7:30. However, if you want to start the celebrations earlier you can participate in our homecoming dress up days and parade.

Each day has a different dress up theme for students. Tuesday is tacky twin day, so grab a friend or two and find the tackiest clothes you can wear. Wednesday is salad dressing day. Freshmen are honey mustard, so they wear all yellow. Sophomores are ranch dressing, so they need to giddy up and wear their best western wear. Juniors are thousand island, so they break out their best Hawaiian wear. Lastly, seniors are caesar salad, so they wear togas. Thursday is act your age day: freshman throw it back to their toddler phase, sophomores go as college students so dress fratty, juniors grow up and become adults for a day, and finally seniors are the wonderful senior citizens.

The homecoming parade is before the game on Friday starting at 5:30 near Halftime Pizza and will go down Emory Rd. in front of Powell High School. Come cheer on our team as they take on the Karns Beavers, and make sure to support all our teams and clubs as well as the PHS cheerleaders, dance team, and band. Do not miss out on homecoming activities and be sure to show your school spirit!
