Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a club available to anyone who is taking a Family and Consumer Science class, or has taken FACS class, or will be taking a FACS class. These classes include Human Services, Nutrition and Foods, Nutrition and Dietetics, Lifespan Development, and Teaching and Profession I, II, III. In FCCLA students promote personal growth and leadership development through family and consumer sciences education. The members of this club develop skills for life through character development, creative and critical thinking, practical knowledge, and vocational preparation. FCCLA members do many projects throughout the year such as making heart pillows for American Cancer Society in memory of Ms. Vicki Dunaway. They also attend Regional Star Events at Carson Newman College, CTE Idol, and the Tennessee Valley Fair. FCCLA meets on the fourth Thursday of every month at 7:45-8:20 a.m. and during class time in room 140. If you have or will have any of these classes I suggest joining FCCLA with Angela Pressley for as little as $15.
