This past Friday the PHS football squad, though winning the first time they faced the WHS Rebels, lost their second face off with the Rebels by a final score of 31-14. After one quarter the Rebels were up 14-0. Starting the second half the Panthers put 7 on the board but were still trailing the rebels by 17. After the third quarter the Rebels stayed steady with 24 and the Panthers added 7 more to make it 24-14. The final score was 31-14. Touchdowns were scored by #5 Tyler Kirkess and #16 Walker Trusley. No one can feel the way the seniors on the team do after this tough loss, to be so close and leave it all out there, however they not only have had the entire school backing them but the community of Powell itself. Everyone is extremely proud of how far our boys have come this year in transition from the tragedy of last season and how hard they worked to get as far as they did. There has definitely been a fire lit throughout the underclassmen on the team to get back out there next year and take it one step further and finish what was started this year.
