Food can be expensive. Especially if you’re a high school student working a low paying job while trying to save up for a car, college, moving out, etc. So, I’m here to give you a few affordable options around Powell that will give you the most bang for your buck.
La Palma Del Oro
La Palma Del Oro is a mexican style sit down restaurant located on Clinton Hwy. They have very decently priced food and good sized portions. They also have vegetarian and vegan friendly options. The food there is definitely worth it for the inexpensive price.
Cook Out is an American Style fast food restaurant on Emory Road. They have the iconic tray which gets you a main item, two sides, and a drink for $5. They also have many other cheap and tasty options on their menu.
Everyone knows Waffle House is one of the best places around town to get some quality food for a good price. There are two locations in Powell, one on Emory, and one on Clinton Highway. They have Diner style food and are open 24 hours for all your late night food needs.
Scotties is an Old Fashioned Diner on Clinton Highway. It’s a locally owned restaurant with lots of yummy and affordable food. They have everything from biscuits and gravy to homestyle burgers. If you’ve never been, it’s definitely worth trying.
Wendy’s has the legendary 4 for $4 deal, which is great. For only $4, you get a sandwich, nuggets, fries, and a drink. Not to mention all of the great deals they have on their value menu. There’s a Wendy’s located on Clinton Highway and Emory Road.
Taco Bell has lots of great mexican style fast food. They have a lots of value boxes as well as their value menu. You can easily get a meal from Taco Bell for under $5 and be satisfied. With their five dollar boxes, you can get all sorts of combos from tacos, fries, drinks, and sweets. There are a couple Taco Bells in Powell, one on Emory, one on Clinton Highway, and one on Merchants.
